About the Association
About the Association
Purpose - Registration, recognition and promotion of the traditional Pinto Paso Horse.

Maintaining accurate pedigree, breeder and genetic information is of utmost importance, not only does it depict the history of the Pinto Paso Horse, it directs the future.

The traditional Pinto Paso is a different type of horse from what is seen in the show  ring, now            more so than ever, out-crossing the traditional pinto with current show lines may add color to  those that are breeding for other association standards but does not reflect the heritage of the Pinto Paso Horse - we have established breed standards that will preserve the traditional Pinto Paso and it's indended purpose - a versatile, smooth gaited horse that can be used and enjoyed by the entire family.
Allow registration of the traditional pinto from countries of origin - some associations do not recognize a number of the association in PR that allow pintos to be registered.

Establish a strong alliance among Pinto Paso owners and breeders acting as an effective marketing/promotional group. To create an advertising cooperative, benefiting the organization and it's members.

Goals

Current goals are the growth of the association, both in number of horses and         members.

Breed specific competitions designed for the traditional Pinto Paso Horse, it's       heritage and original use.

Register as a not-for-profit organization.

The organization is currently privately owned headed by directors and controlled by      members (basically a cooperative).  All members will have 1 vote per every question           posed to the membership.  This will allow the association to grow in the directions as                 decided by the entire membership.
